South Karnataka merchants seek permission to open business on weekends

Bengaluru, 15 Jan (KNN) As per media experiences,  a number of service provider organisations in Dakshina (South) Kannada which headquarters within the port metropolis of Mangalore have urged the district administration permit them to conduct business on weekends.

They have proposed for the retailers to keep shut for the primary two days of per week quite than on weekends.

All of the business which have requested for this are textile, prepared-made garment, footwear and cell phone retailers in addition to magnificence parlours which do most business on weekends.

Another demand that follows is to have representatives from service provider organisations and economists who’ve studied the issues businessmen face due to lockdowns and curfews to be included within the professional committees.

Expressing the plea of MSMEs Santhosh Kamath, President of Karavali Textile, Readymade and Footwear Dealers Association stated, merchants within the coastal districts aren’t in a position to maintain their companies, due to losses incurred throughout curfews and lockdowns.

“Most of the medium and small businessmen are struggling to repay bank loans, pay salaries to employees as well as rent and electricity bills,” he added.

The small business homeowners have criticised the permission given to political gatherings, festivals and elections.

Hence they’ve steered to shut down their retailers for 2 days, to start with of each week.
