Gateshead household communicate out about damp-riddled council home

Depression, stress and ruined furnishings – this Gateshead household are feeling the pressure of dwelling in a humid-riddled home.

Paula, 50, Liam, 25, and Callum, 23, Davison have lived on High Lanes, in Heworth for 21 years, however six years in the past the situation of their home began to go down hill.

They say the property, which they hire from Gateshead Housing Company, wants a protracted record of repairs, with just one room being habitable.

Liam, a credit score controller, says poor housing circumstances have triggered rifts within the household and he’s needed to depart dwelling and his mum Paula, who works as a Health Care Assistant, is just too embarrassed to host guests within the household dwelling.

“We’ve had damp issues since 2013, and we were told to wait six months from the original report to make sure its not condensation, this seemed to happen for two years solid,” he stated.
