The National Productivity Council will undertake an analysis research to assess the performance of 4 power loom sector schemes for a interval from April 2017 to March 2020, to assist the Centre make enhancements in future schemes to obtain higher outcomes for the sector by figuring out current gaps.

“The study would focus on detailed field-level interactions with central agencies involved in implementation of the projects and various stakeholders. Field study would be conducted through structured questionnaire/checklists at the cluster level on a pan-India basis,” the Office of the Textile Commissioner mentioned.

The 4 schemes whose performance shall be evaluated embrace PowerTex India, Converged Group Insurance, Revised Comprehensive Powerloom Cluster Development and North East Region Textile Promotion Scheme which are in place until March 2020.

The goal of the schemes being analysed is growth of the decentralised power loom sector and promotion of textiles within the northeastern area. The National Productivity Council comes underneath the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
