The Indian corporations offered their bids to potential Kenyan apparel makers through the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) Wool and Woollen exhibition in New Delhi.
The three-day occasion which happened from March 25 to 27, noticed Kenya’s trend designers and sourcing brokers work together with India’s wool and Woollen merchandise producers and exporters.
“The ultimate objective of the event was to strengthen “Brand India” picture of Made in India Woollen/pashmina/GI merchandise and blended textile merchandise globally,” India’s Wool and Woollens Export promotion Council (WWEPC) chief govt officer (CEO) Anil Mehta stated.
Kenyan trend corporations and importers that graced the occasion included Rialto Enterprises, Occasions and Days Limited, Sao Satorial Limited and Combiat Agencies.
Occasions and Days Limited CEO Monica Kanari stated that they’re eyeing partnerships with the Indian textile and apparel trade for a seamless supply of high quality materials for Kenya’s textile trade.
Kenya has been pushing consumption of domestically-made apparel to create jobs in addition to cut back the annual foreign exchange stockpile spent yearly in shopping for second hand garments from overseas.
Under the manufacturing pillar of the federal government’s “Big Four” agenda, jumps-tarting the leather-based, textiles and agro-processing sub-sectors was seen as key in making fast positive aspects in rebuilding Kenya’s trade.
