Lucknow: Nearly 29 individuals have been booked for an enormous rip-off in the mid-day meal (MDM) scheme in three districts of Uttar Pradesh — Rae Bareli, Kannauj and Pratapgarh — the place foodgrain meant for faculty youngsters have been being offered in the open market.
Seventeen Anganwadi employees and 4 supervisors of Pratapgarh have been suspended after raids led to the restoration of huge portions of meals grain meant for the scheme in the warehouse of a personal dealer in Rae Bareli.
Around 155 luggage (roughly 9,300 kgs) of meals grains have been discovered in the warehouse in the Salon Block of Rae Bareli which had been introduced from neighbouring Pratapgarh.
Following a departmental probe, it was discovered that the meals grain meant for the MDM of Pratapgarh’s Rampur-Sangramgarh and Rampur Khas blocks had been illegally offered to the Rae Bareli dealer.
According to Director, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Shatrughan Singh, on the premise of the inquiry report the dealer has been arrested and despatched to jail.
He mentioned that orders for lodging FIRs towards the Anganwadi employees had additionally been issued.
Singh mentioned that departmental inquiry had been initiated towards Pratapgarh District Programme Officer (DPO) P Okay Yadav and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in-charge.
Similarly, 4 Mukhya Sevikas and one head clerk have been suspended in Kannauj after the invention of irregularities in the distribution of MDM scheme.
In Kannauj, the District Magistrate’s (DM) group had discovered plenty of meals grains meant for the MDM being transported in an auto-rickshaw.
The motion was taken on the premise of the report submitted by the DM workplace.
