The whole stretch from Parel in Central Bombay to Girgaum in South Mumbai was dotted with textile mills.

As the power of the employees in these mills grew, so did their issues. This was the time when the Communist Party of India (CPI) introduced the commerce unions into Bombay.

The staff with their growing woes discovered the commerce unions to be their go-to position. As the commerce union actions grew, so did Communism.

The Congress, which was in energy in Maharashtra in the 1960s, discovered it tough to comprise the commerce unions and its actions.

On a parallel monitor, the Shiv Sena began working for the trigger of the Marathi Manoos (sons-of-the-soil). Since the mill staff had been Marathis, many of them veered in the direction of the Sena, which was simply a corporation then.

The beginning of the Shiv Sena as a political social gathering in 1966 was in reality aided by the Congress.

Since the Shiv Sena spoke the language of the mill staff, it began making makes an attempt to garner help of the mill staff.

It was the Congress social gathering that helped the Sena achieve a foothold into the commerce union motion, because the social gathering’s authorities in the state remained a silent bystander to the growing clashes between Sainiks and Communists.
