In his free time, Indianapolis Colts proprietor Jim Irsay has amassed a reasonably formidable sports activities and rock and roll memorabilia assortment.

His newest buy is a heavyweight one, actually. Irsay confirmed this morning that he purchased Muhammad Ali’s 1974 “Rumble in the Jungle” championship belt. 

The belt, which Ali gained by defeating George Foreman in that well-known bout, bought for a cool $6.18 million, in line with Heritage Auctions. 

If you are going to spend a loopy sum of money on memorabilia, at the very least make it for one thing cool. Ali’s belt positively matches the invoice.

Irsay mentioned the belt shall be displayed for the primary time in Chicago on August 2. It will then be proven in Indianapolis beginning September 9.

Among the opposite purchases in Irsay’s assortment the unique lyrics to “Hey Jude,” a John Lennon piano, a recreation-used Jackie Robinson bat and guitars belonging to Kirk Cobain, Prince and David Gilmour, amongst others
